One of the scary parts of the recent election is being able to take a look back at our country. I’m not talking just the last couple of weeks or months. I’m talking let’s look back years.

If you look at our country from the 1970’s through today, you will notice just how much the church has gotten quite in their views. We, christians, are told to keep quiet and pray for them. What ever happened to standing up and shouting that something isn’t right?

Have we been quiet too long now? I think so. Our morals in this country are in the garbage so deep that they will only be restored when Christ comes back. It’s ok for everything these days to get shoved down your throat, and if you don’t like it, well, you’re a hipocrite and bigot. Heck, maybe even a racist.

Why?

This country was founded on Christian values. “In God We Trust” actually meant something to people back then. It still might today, however if you say it in school the ACLU will sue you and the police will arrest you.

Oh, and since it is that time of year again, I challenge each of you to wish everyone a “Merry Christmas” at any chance you get. Christmas, whether you believe in Christ or not, is the true reason for the season. It was around long before Walmart and X-Box machines. Remind your kids of that point.

If someone gets offended about you wishing them a Merry Christmas, oh well. I get offended when someone tells me to have a Happy Holiday. Well, maybe not offended but political correctness has run amok in this country too long.

So, now is the time to speak up dear Christian. Our country is depending upon it. Let people know that gay rights don’t have to be shoved down my throat. Abortion isn’t a right, it’s murder. Greed isn’t good, it’s driving this country deeper into debt to the point that one day we will literally be eating fresh Chinese food as they will OWN our country.

So, what do you have to say?

One of the most important things to me is music.  It is where I can find peace and renewal through all of the days hardships.

Sometimes I just sit down, turn out the lights and crank it up.  I’m sure the neighbors think I’m weird, but I don’t care.  To feel the beat of the music and feel the words from my mouth in praise of my God and Lord is amazing to me.

There are certain songs that really just hit me and stress the magnitude of Christ in my life and how important He is.  I really like Third Day and their songs.  They have some amazingly powerful tunes.

I would like to share one with you courtesy of YouTube.

Here is another one that just really touches me. I remember my Grandparents singing this in their church when I was growing up. Such a beautiful song brought to modern life by a great group!

Hey, my name is John and this is my first site or attempt at a blog.  I have read plenty of blogs and other sites and have always had an interest in making one, but this is my first attempt.

I’m not sure what to say about myself other than I am a typical dude with a wife and a couple of kids.  I don’t have a white picket fence nor do we have a dog, yet.  My 4 year old keeps bugging me for getting one.  I keep reminder her that until she can keep her room clean and listen to her mother and I, she won’t have one.

We still don’t have a dog.

Ok, so what do I like?  Well, I like lots of stuff.  I like woodworking, NASCAR, investments and 401k stuff.  I like cooking, but not as much as my wife does.  She is the real winner when it comes to cooking.
We live in middle America and are getting into the winter months here, so I will probably be writing a little more during winter than I would during the summer months.  When it’s warm out we like to spend more time outside and away from the t.v. and computer stuff.

Anyways, thanks for stopping by.  I haven’t told any of my friends yet about this site as I wanted to learn more about it and have something interesting to say before I do.
